The Steinel MD-IR 270 is a versatile infrared motion sensor engineered for both indoor and outdoor applications. With 270° wall and 360° ceiling coverage, it provides dependable detection across entrances, long façades, carparks and high-traffic access points.
Steinel’s patented Eagle Eye technology delivers an even closer view of approach paths: by rotating the small selector window on the sensor head, a dedicated pyro channel doubles the radial detection range at that point, expanding from approximately 3 m to 6 m for head-on movement—ideal for doorways and corridor approaches.
Commissioning and day-to-day adjustments are streamlined via Bluetooth® Mesh. Define timer programmes, set twilight levels, link wireless push-buttons and coordinate connected outdoor luminaires, all from the app. Detection reach is configurable up to 12 m (site dependent) and can be shaped with shrouds to suit project requirements. With a robust, LED-ready switching capacity up to 600 W, the MD-IR 270 handles modern lighting loads with ease.
Available in surface- or recessed-mount formats (corner wall bracket included), the MD-IR 270 integrates cleanly with contemporary architecture while delivering practical, energy-efficient control.
